Our Rule of Faith

The Canonical or Inspired thirty nine books of the Old Testament, and twenty seven books of the New Testament are God's revelation to man. The Scriptures or The Holy Bible.

We read in 2 Timothy 3verse 16 that: "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." When the Sadducees questioned Jesus about the resurrection, Jesus said, "...ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God." Matthew 22:29. Jesus praying to His Father said: "...thy word is truth." John17: 17. When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, He met the temptation by using the scriptures: "It is written." The Holy scriptures are our authority and inspiration, our rule of faith. "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart..." Hebrews 4:12.

We need to feed on the Word of God daily! We wouldn't miss a meal to feed our bodies; neither should we neglect to feed our souls. A good meal builds us up; God's word builds us up spiritually: "And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified." Acts 20:32. The word of God is our rule of faith.

If you have just made a decision for Jesus Christ, and are a new Christian, God's word tells you: "As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby." 1 Peter 2:2. Read the Holy Bible daily, feed on it, enjoy it, allow God to speak to you through His word as you speak to Him through your prayers. Too much condemnation preaching at the pulpit or in books can sometimes do the reverse to Christian's souls. We need to hear the Holy Scriptures to correct us, we need to hear the truth, but not, "Thou Shalt Not", "Thou Shalt Not", all the time!! It says, The Word of God is able to BUILD YOU UP not flatten you!!!

Why don't you visit our Website daily and read our Daily Scripture? Jesus said, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God". Matthew 4:4.
